Turn a pile of food into compact cans!

Farmed too much, cooked way too much, and now your inventory is a graveyard of stacked food items? This mod solves that problem simply and elegantly — no bloated systems, no dozens of new items.

What the mod adds:

• 🥫 Canned food — compress stacks of food into compact cans, saving inventory space
• 🔪 Can opener — open your cans before eating
• 🍳 Cooking canned food — heat up the contents before consuming
• 🟠 Recycling — empty cans can be recycled into copper ingots, nothing goes to waste

The mod stays focused on one idea and doesn’t overload the game with dozens of recipes — minimal items, maximum utility. Feel free to is it in your modpack!

Roadmap

v1 — Polish Update

• Improved can-opening animation with the can opener
• Config file (crafting ratios, food values, etc.)
• Better opening and eating sounds

v2 — Compatibility Update

• Expanded compatibility with popular food mods (automatic canning recipes for their food items)
• Status effects from canned food (e.g. minor buff/debuff depending on content/freshness)

v3 — Content Update

• 3D models for cans so they can be placed in the world (as decoration/storage)
• Loot table integration with apocalypse/survival mods (cans spawning in relevant loot tables)
• Rotting system — TBD, needs balancing
