I made this addon because getting pulled into the Wither Storm’s tractor beam was just “you die”, and I wanted a way to fight back.

Now when the beam grabs you, a sequence of W, A, S, D and left/right clicks shows up on screen. Press them in order and you swim faster and the pull gets weaker. Hit a wrong key and you lose your speed. If you finish the sequence you break free, and the beams leave you alone for a few seconds. If you don’t, the storm eats you like normal.

If you’re playing with friends:

Stand on solid ground next to a friend who’s in the beam and press G to grab him. You both do the same sequence, and if one of you fails, you both fail.
Anyone close by can press G to skip part of a stuck friend’s sequence.

There’s also a server config where you can change the difficulty, sequence length, swim speed, immunity time, rope strength and a bunch of other physics stuff.

Operators can use /witherescape reset to free someone who gets stuck.

Requires Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47 and Cracker’s Wither Storm Mod 4.2.1. Install it on both the client and the server.
