Forge 1.20.1 | Unofficial fan-made mod inspired by Jujutsu Kaisen

The Pitch

Equip a helmet. Take hits. Get stronger with every one.

The Wheel of Dharma records every damage source you survive — arrows, fire, magic, explosions, modded attacks — and builds resistance per type until you’re fully adapted to that source. At max stage, you don’t just survive. You strike back.

What Makes This Different

  • Legion Link — Linked players and mobs share adaptation in real time. One adapts, the whole legion does.
  • Multi-Key Memory — Adapting to swords doesn’t reset your progress against fire. Every source tracks independently.
  • Counterstrike — The Wheel stores incoming damage and unleashes it back when you retaliate.
  • Enlightenment — Put the Wheel on any living entity. Your iron golem now adapts too.

How It Works

  1. Craft and equip the Wheel (helmet slot).
  2. Take damage → The Wheel records the source.
  3. Stage advances (0→5) per damage type across the 10 distinct adaptation pathways.
  4. Stage 5 = Full resistance on that source + automatic counter-attack.

Crafting: 8× Gold Blocks surrounding 1× Gold Ingot.

Why This Release

Version 2.0.7 introduces an expanded 10-stage adaptation system, updated damage-source handling, improved adaptation scaling, and additional Legion functionality.

Compared to 2.0.6, this release expands the core progression from five to ten stages and introduces a consent-based mob connection system with clear YES / NO chat responses.

Players can choose whether to share adaptation progress with a mob or allow that mob to develop its own independent adaptation.

The update also introduces additional wheel animation effects powered by the updated animation system.

What’s New in 2.0.7 (vs 2.0.6)

  • 10-Stage Adaptation Core — The progression system has been expanded from 5 stages (0–5) in version 2.0.6 to 10 stages (0–10) in version 2.0.7, introducing more gradual adaptation and additional damage-resistance tiers.

  • Improved Damage Scaling — The updated core calculates damage reduction, knockback reduction, and Counterstrike scaling according to the current adaptation stage and damage-source key.

  • Independent Source Tracking — Progress is maintained separately for recognized damage-source keys, including melee, weapon-based attacks, projectiles, explosions, and environmental or entity-based damage.

  • YES / NO Connection Requests — Players receive a chat message when a mob connection offer is created. Type YES to establish a link with shared adaptation progress or NO to let the mob develop its own separate adaptation.

  • Independent Mob Adaptation — Mobs can continue developing their own adaptation through damage they personally survive without relying on the player’s progress when the connection is declined or expires.

  • Legion Progress Sharing — Accepted connections enable shared adaptation between linked members through the Legion sharing system.

  • Enhanced Counterstrike System — Counterstrike progression is integrated with the updated 10-stage core. Retaliation becomes available at Stage 7 and scales up to 35% at Stage 10, with a 20-damage cap per retaliation.

  • Polished Animations — Updated wheel animation handling introduces additional spin and adaptation-transition effects.

  • GeckoLib Dependency Update — GeckoLib is declared optional in the 2.0.7 mod metadata, while remaining recommended for the intended animated wheel presentation.

  • Runtime & Session Handling — Additional adaptation and connection-handling functionality refines how the system processes progress and linked entities.

Under the Hood

Layer Role in 2.0.7
UnifiedAdaptationCore Central adaptation progression, independent source keys, 10-stage damage scaling, knockback and Counterstrike ratios.
AdaptationCoreBridge Connects the adaptation core to player and mob sessions and shared progress.
MobAdaptationClassifier Identifies and normalizes mob damage sources into separate adaptation keys.
LegionConsentService Handles mob connection offers, YES / NO responses, and connection consent.
LegionLinkManager Manages accepted Legion connections between entities.
LegionShareDistributor Distributes shared adaptation progress between linked members.
SharedAdaptationService Handles shared progress and adaptation transfer between players and mobs.
WheelAdaptationAnimation Handles additional wheel animation and adaptation-transition effects.

Breaking Changes & Migration

  • Always back up your world or use a fresh test world before updating.
  • Adaptation tracking is session-oriented. Do not assume all accumulated progress will persist across game restarts or session changes.
  • Keep only one Mahoraga JAR in your mods folder to avoid duplicate mod loading and conflicts.

Known Issues & Requirements

  • Block-breaking adaptation (canAdaptToBlockBreaking) remains a WIP feature. Keep it disabled unless you are specifically testing it.
  • Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47+.
  • GeckoLib is optional according to the 2.0.7 mod metadata, but recommended for the full animated wheel presentation.
  • The Sacred Wheel uses the standard Minecraft helmet slot. Compatibility with third-party custom equipment slots is not guaranteed.
