OreUnifier

Take Control of Duplicate Materials in Your Modpack

Minecraft 26.3 | NeoForge | Version 1.1.0

Ever installed multiple technology or industrial mods and ended up with several different versions of the same metal?

One mod adds Tin Ingots, another adds its own Tin Ingots, and suddenly your storage system is overflowing with duplicate materials that don’t always work the way you expect.

OreUnifier helps you organize and standardize materials across your modpack.

Scan installed mods, discover equivalent materials, choose your preferred providers, and generate a world-specific unification datapack—all from an easy-to-use in-game interface.

Whether you’re playing a small technology modpack or assembling a large industrial experience, OreUnifier gives you greater control over your resources without requiring you to manually write datapack JSON files.

Features

Automatic Material Discovery

OreUnifier scans item tags registered by your installed mods to identify equivalent resources.

It supports common c tags, compatible legacy forge tags, and selected verified mod-specific processing tags.

No manually maintained material list is required. OreUnifier dynamically discovers supported materials from the mods you have installed.

15 Supported Material Forms

OreUnifier 1.1.0 recognizes fifteen material forms:

Traditional Forms Additional Processing Forms
Ingots Clumps
Nuggets Crystals
Dusts Shards
Raw Materials Dirty Dusts
Storage Blocks Plates
  Gears
  Rods
  Wires
  Small Dusts
  Tiny Dusts

Available forms depend on the actual tags and items supplied by your installed mods.

Improved Alloy Support

OreUnifier can discover tagged alloys and industrial materials, including materials such as bronze, steel, brass, electrum, invar, and other supported alloys.

Different alloys remain separate materials. OreUnifier does not guess that two materials are interchangeable merely because they have similar names or ingredients.

Choose Your Preferred Providers

Want one mod’s ingots but another mod’s dusts?

No problem.

OreUnifier allows you to choose a different canonical provider for each material form.

For example:

Material Form Preferred Provider
Tin Ingot SimpleOres
Tin Nugget Energized Power
Tin Dust Energized Power
Tin Storage Block Energized Power

Selections are saved per world and preserved across rescans and restarts as long as the selected items remain available.

Safe Datapack Generation

OreUnifier generates a datapack containing canonical material tags and eligible crafting conversions.

Traditional material forms can receive explicit 1:1 conversion recipes when safe equivalence is established.

Specialized processing forms—including clumps, crystals, dirty dusts, plates, gears, and wires—support discovery, selection, and canonical tags but do not automatically receive crafting conversion recipes.

This helps avoid unintended processing shortcuts and progression bypasses.

Multiplayer Support

OreUnifier works in singleplayer and dedicated multiplayer environments.

Material scanning runs on the server, and scan results are synchronized to the player.

Server operators control Save and Export permissions.

User Manual

1. Installing OreUnifier

Singleplayer

  1. Install Minecraft 26.3 with a compatible NeoForge loader.

  2. Download the correct OreUnifier JAR from CurseForge.

  3. Place the JAR in your Minecraft instance’s mods folder, or install it through CurseForge.

  4. Launch Minecraft.

  5. Open or create a world.

OreUnifier does not require a separate configuration tool or external application.

Multiplayer

Install the same OreUnifier 1.1.0 release on both the server and connecting clients.

The client and server use the same networking protocol. Do not mix OreUnifier 1.0.1 and 1.1.0 between client and server.

Administrators need appropriate server permissions to save shared canonical selections and export datapacks.

2. Opening the OreUnifier Interface

Once you are inside a world, open Minecraft chat and enter:

/oreunifier gui

The OreUnifier configuration screen will open.

The interface includes:

  • Search: Find specific materials or providers.

  • Scan: Discover materials from installed mods.

  • Material List: Browse detected materials and forms.

  • Provider Selection: Choose preferred items.

  • Save: Store your selections for the world.

  • Export: Generate or update the world datapack.

  • Close: Exit the interface.

The screen also displays scan progress, completion information, and applicable errors.

3. Scanning Your Installed Mods

Click Scan.

OreUnifier requests a scan from the server, examines supported item tags, and gathers the available material candidates.

When the scan finishes, the material list updates automatically.

For example, if two mods provide tin ingots, OreUnifier may find:

Material: Tin

Form: Ingot

Candidates:

  • energizedpower:tin_ingot

  • simpleores:tin_ingot

Both items are candidates for the same recognized material and form.

The actual results depend on which mods and tags are present.

You do not need to close and reopen the GUI after scanning.

What if nothing appears?

Check that:

  • You are inside a loaded world.

  • Your installed mods provide supported material tags.

  • The search field is not filtering out results.

  • The screen has not reported a scan or networking error.

A mod providing an item does not automatically guarantee that it supplies a recognized equivalence tag.

4. Finding Materials

Use the search field at the top of the interface.

For example, search for:

tin

to find matching tin-related entries.

You can also search using supported provider or item information.

Clear the search field to return to the full discovered list.

Use the scrollable material list to navigate larger modpacks.

Hover over material entries to inspect additional information, including full item identifiers, provider information, and available compatibility evidence.

5. Choosing Canonical Materials

This is the main function of OreUnifier.

A canonical material is the item you choose as your preferred version of a particular material and form.

For example, you may want every eligible tin-ingot conversion to produce SimpleOres Tin Ingots instead of Energized Power Tin Ingots.

Selecting a Provider

Locate the material and form you want to change.

Use the provider-selection controls to cycle through the available candidates.

Supported controls include:

  • Left-click: cycle forward.

  • Right-click: cycle backward.

  • Enter or Space: cycle the selected form forward.

  • Shift+Enter or Shift+Space: cycle backward.

  • Arrow keys: navigate supported list selections.

The selected item’s identifier is available through the GUI’s information display and tooltips.

Different Forms Can Use Different Providers

You do not need to select the same mod for every form.

For example, you can select:

  • SimpleOres for Tin Ingots.

  • Energized Power for Tin Nuggets.

  • Energized Power for Tin Dusts.

OreUnifier saves those choices independently.

Automatic Defaults

When you haven’t chosen a provider, OreUnifier uses deterministic provider preferences to establish a default.

You can override those defaults wherever multiple valid candidates are available.

Previously saved valid choices take precedence over default selection.

6. Saving Your Configuration

After selecting your preferred materials, click Save.

OreUnifier stores your canonical selections in the world’s configuration.

The server-side profile is located at:

<world>/serverconfig/oreunifier/profile.json

This JSON profile contains the saved material and form selections.

Important

Save does not generate or activate the unification datapack.

Save records your preferences.

Use Export when you’re ready to generate the actual datapack files.

Saving in Multiplayer

Saving shared server configuration requires appropriate server permissions.

If the Save button is disabled, contact your server administrator.

Ordinary players may still be permitted to view and scan materials.

7. Exporting Your Unification Datapack

Once your selections are saved, click Export.

OreUnifier generates or updates its datapack inside the world directory:

<world>/datapacks/oreunifier-generated/

The generated content can include:

Canonical tags

Identify your selected items as the canonical representatives of supported material/form combinations.

Crafting conversions

Allow eligible alternate items to be converted into their chosen canonical equivalents.

Generated diagnostics

Record which selections were included or excluded and why.

Example: Tin Ingot Conversion

Suppose you select:

simpleores:tin_ingot

as the canonical tin ingot.

If the two tin ingots are verified equivalent and eligible, OreUnifier can generate a conversion from:

energizedpower:tin_ingot

to:

simpleores:tin_ingot

This is a 1:1 conversion.

One alternate ingot produces one canonical ingot.

It does not multiply the material.

Important: Apply the Datapack

After exporting, reload the world’s datapacks so Minecraft can recognize updated generated data.

A server operator can use:

/reload

You can also restart the world/server as appropriate.

On a dedicated server, administrators can check the enabled datapacks using:

/datapack list enabled

The generated pack should appear as file/oreunifier-generated when enabled.

New exports that change recipes or tags require a reload before those changes take effect.

8. Understanding Processing Forms

OreUnifier 1.1.0 introduces additional industrial material forms, but not every recognized form becomes a crafting recipe.

This distinction is intentional.

Traditional Material Forms

The original forms—ingots, nuggets, dusts, raw materials, and storage blocks—can receive crafting conversions when the material identity and conversion are considered safe.

Advanced Processing Forms

Clumps, crystals, shards, dirty dusts, plates, gears, rods, wires, small dusts, and tiny dusts are currently tag-only for automatic export.

You can discover these forms, inspect candidates, select canonical providers, save choices, and export appropriate canonical tags.

OreUnifier does not automatically allow you to turn one mod’s processing intermediates into another mod’s items through ordinary crafting.

This protects against unintended machine-progression bypasses and incorrect equivalences.

9. Rescanning After Modpack Changes

If you add or remove mods, open OreUnifier and scan again.

OreUnifier will examine the currently loaded material tags.

Previously saved choices remain selected when their candidates are still valid.

If a selected item has disappeared, OreUnifier uses its established fallback rules for currently available valid candidates.

Review your selections after major modpack changes, then Save and Export again if necessary.

10. Recipe Conflicts

Some mods already include recipes that use a single material item as input.

For example, one tin ingot may normally craft into nine tin nuggets.

If OreUnifier generates a single-item ingot conversion for that same input, the recipes can overlap.

Known Workaround

If an alternate tin ingot produces its canonical ingot instead of nuggets:

  1. Place the alternate ingot in the crafting grid.

  2. Convert it into the canonical ingot.

  3. Place the canonical ingot in the crafting grid.

  4. Craft the normal nugget recipe.

This workaround has been verified with representative installed mods.

OreUnifier does not automatically delete or override third-party recipes to eliminate every possible conflict.

11. What OreUnifier Does Not Do

OreUnifier is a material-selection and datapack-generation utility, not a universal rewriting engine.

It does not automatically:

  • Replace every item already stored in player inventories or storage systems.

  • Change all third-party machine outputs.

  • Rewrite arbitrary mod recipes or loot tables.

  • Guarantee compatibility with every material added by every mod.

  • Treat differently named or composed alloys as equivalent without supporting evidence.

  • Preserve arbitrary custom item components when using generated crafting conversions.

Mod-specific machine and recipe integration may require separate compatibility support.

12. Troubleshooting

The GUI opens, but no materials appear

Click Scan, clear your search filter, and verify your modpack provides supported material tags.

A material is missing

The supplying mod may use an unsupported tag convention, or it may not register the item under a recognized material/form tag.

My selected provider changed

If a previously selected item is no longer available or valid, OreUnifier may fall back to another recognized candidate.

Save or Export is disabled

You may not have the necessary server permissions. Contact the server administrator.

My crafting conversion doesn’t appear

Verify that:

  • You clicked Export.

  • The generated datapack is enabled.

  • The world/server has reloaded the datapack.

  • The material/form is eligible for crafting conversion.

  • The proposed conversion was not excluded for a safety or ambiguity reason.

My new clump or plate doesn’t have a conversion recipe

That is expected. The ten new processing forms generate canonical tags, not automatic crafting conversions.

I see an unexpected crafting result

The generated recipe may overlap with an existing mod recipe. Review the available recipes and use the canonical-first workaround when applicable.
