Better Mob Combat Forked

A fork of Better Mob Combat, ported to 1.21.1.

An add-on mod for Better Combat that allows it to work with (humanoid) mobs.

Requires Mob Player Animator Forked to properly animate the mobs through Player Animator.

Mobs that hold weapons are given the better combat treatment with new attacks and animations, they recognize allies and can attack multiple entities at once (In vanilla, that’d mostly apply to Vindicators, Wither Skeletons and Zombified Piglins):

Recommended mods to use alongside BMC

• Shoulder Surfing Reloaded: Excellent 3rd person camera mod, you can better appreciate the attack animations with this camera.
• Improved Mobs: Give naturally spawned mobs armor and weapons and make them stronger over time, amongst a ton of other very configurable features.
• Simply Swords: Fun weapons with cool animations and abilities that mobs can use.
• Grabby Mobs: Make mobs always pick up dropped equipment.
• Mob AI Tweaks: Give mobs new behaviors and abilities to balance the combat.

Config options are included to control which mobs are allowed to use the Better Combat system, how much upswing, cooldown… etc, as well as automatically blacklist mobs animated using GeckoLib since they are not compatible with Player Animator.

Additions

• Very close attacks now connect more consistently, which also helps preventing mobs from standing still in front of the player instead of attacking.
• There’s a new config option to delay the actual damage of a mob attack for fine-tuning.
• Mobs with a weapon in the left hand automatically swap it to the right to attack, or duplicate the weapon for dual wielding (Depending on how weapons are given to them).

Compatibility

In theory, it should be compatible with most modded humanoid mobs, however, some mods might require additional code to be compatible.
