Verity Gateway by Firs is a Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge horror modpack built around Verity JE.

Features
– Verity JE with Smiley’s Better Brain and Better Vision, bundled inside Verity Gateway Addon.
– Russian voice recordings, translated fixed chat lines and the Russian Verity resource pack.
– AI dialogue through your own Gemini key, microphone transcription through Groq and generated speech through the free Fish Audio route on OpenRouter.
– An optional gateway connection for players who prefer a separately configured AI backend.
– Embeddium and Oculus, plus a customized Complementary Unbound shaderpack with a custom moon. Shaders are OFF by default and can be enabled manually.

AI setup
Open Mods > Verity JE > Config > AI and Voice, choose Own API keys, enter your personal provider keys and save. The same screen is available through Better Brain’s config entry.
A gateway, Python or local AI model is not required for personal API mode in single-player. Fixed recorded lines play locally without API requests.
You need your own provider accounts for dynamic AI features. Free access has quotas, regional restrictions and availability limits; Gemini billing follows your Google project settings and selected model. There is no automatic paid fallback in personal API mode.
Dedicated servers require administrator-side AI configuration; client API keys are not sent to the server.
