Andesite & Acorns

Andesite & Acorns is a Create pack for people who want adventure, exploration, and a little bit of a challenge. The pack is about 290 mods on NeoForge 1.21.1.

Fifty of those mods are Create or Create add-ons. The rest build a world worth exploring: new terrain, new biomes, overhauled villages, a seasonal calendar that affects farming, and a difficulty ladder that scales mobs and loot as you progress.

What’s different from vanilla

Most of this you’ll run into in the first couple of hours.

• Terrain and biomes aren’t vanilla. The Middgard world type replaces the default generator, Tectonic handles the terrain shape under it, and Biomes O’ Plenty and Regions Unexplored add roughly 150 biomes. Villages are overhauled too.
• Crops only grow properly in season. Plant out of season and they still grow, just very slowly. A full year takes 96 in-game days.
• Sleeping doesn’t skip to morning. Time speeds up based on how many players are in bed.
• You don’t drop your stuff when you die. You leave a grave that holds everything and doesn’t despawn. You may also survive a killing blow and be given a second chance.
• Enchanting is rebuilt. Apotheosis adds affixed gear, sockets, gems and rarity tiers on top of the enchanting table.
• Mobs get harder as you progress rather than staying flat, and new bosses and Invaders start showing up as you climb.
• Eating a varied diet permanently raises max health by up to ten hearts.
• Vein mining is in, but as an enchantment you have to find.

Create

Create itself plus fifty add-ons, grouped roughly by what they do:

• Flight: Create Aeronautics and Aeroworks for physics-based airships, Create Jetpack, Curios Jetpack & Backtank

• Factory: Enchantment Industry, Ultimate Factory, Vibrant Vaults, Parallel Pipes, Trading Floor, Encased, Casing
• Decoration: Copycats+, Framed, Deco, Interiors, Design n’ Decor, Dreams n’ Desires, Bits ‘n’ Bobs, Oxidized

World generation

Middgard provides the world type, Tectonic shapes the terrain under it. You get deep oceans, proper mountain ranges and rivers that run underground through the hills. Biomes O’ Plenty and Regions Unexplored add around 150 biomes on top.

Structures come from about a dozen mods: Towns and Towers, ChoiceTheorem’s Overhauled Village, Repurposed Structures, Dungeon Crawl, YUNG’s Better Mineshafts, Illager Structures, Hollowmarch, Moog’s End Structures and Explorify among them. Spacing has been rebalanced across all of them together instead of leaving each mod at its own defaults, which stops the map turning into a theme park.

Seasons

Serene Seasons runs a 96-day year across twelve sub-seasons. Leaves change, snow shows up in winter, and crops are only fertile in their own seasons. Planting out of season still works, it’s just slow.

Better Days changes how sleep works. Rather than jumping to dawn, time runs faster depending on how many players are in bed, so sleeping is worth coordinating.

Progression and combat

Apotheosis handles progression through five World Tiers: Haven, Frontier, Ascent, Summit and Pinnacle. Each one unlocks off an actual milestone, like a full set of affix gear, killing an Invader, the Wither, or the dragon. Higher tiers mean harder mobs and better loot, and Apothic Invaders start spawning from Frontier onward.

For things to fight: Brutal Bosses sitting on structure loot, plus Legendary Monsters, Born in Chaos, Mutant Monsters and Trial Guardians. For fighting back: Simply Swords, Relics, Artifacts, Reliquary and YDM’s Weapon Master.

Movement options include Paragliders, Icarus wings, Do a Barrel Roll and Waystones.

Building and decoration

The full Macaw’s set is in (bridges, doors, roofs, windows, fences, furniture, lights, paths, stairs, trapdoors), along with Handcrafted, Chipped, Supplementaries, Cluttered and Dye Depot. Sophisticated Storage and Sophisticated Backpacks handle organisation, both with Create integration.

Food and farming

Croptopia and Farmer’s Delight add several hundred crops and dishes. Spice of Life: Carrot Edition turns that into progression: eat enough different foods and you permanently gain hearts, up to ten extra, and you don’t lose them on death. Crops Love Rain, Barnyard Buddies, Horseman, and Re:Animal fill out the farm side.

Visuals and performance

Distant Horizons renders terrain well past your render distance, which matters a lot once you’re flying. Complementary Shaders (Reimagined and Unbound) are included, along with Fresh Animations and Sound Physics Remastered.

On the performance side: Sodium and Iris via Sinytra Connector, plus ModernFix, Lithium, FerriteCore, ImmediatelyFast and Clumps.

Quality of life

• Corpse graves and Second Chance, so dying is a setback rather than a disaster
• Right Click Harvest, Carry On, Easy Villagers, Visual Workbench, Inventory Essentials
• JEI, Jade, Xaero’s Minimap and World Map, Waystones, Nature’s Compass, Explorer’s Compass
