Alex’s Caves: Nuclear Convergence

Overview

This mod bridges parts of Alex’s Caves (the unofficial 1.21.1 port) with Create Nuclear.

Bridging Features

• Radiation is unified: Create Nuclear’s radiation effect is replaced by Alex’s Caves’ irradiated effect.
• Radrock Uranium Ore in the Toxic Caves now drops Create Nuclear’s Raw Uranium.
• The Toxic Caves now rarely generate the “Abandoned Reactor” structure (a small Create Nuclear reactor), with 4 variants of different damage levels, each containing 2 Rusty Barrel loot chests.
• Toxic Caves ruins chests can now contain Reactor Blueprints.
• The Toxic Caves now generate Radrock Iron Ore, Radrock Coal Ore, Radrock Lead Ore and Radrock Nitrate Ore.
• The Abyssal Chasm now generates Tuff Thorium Ore and Abyssal Thorium Ore.
• The Forlorn Hollows now generates Guanostone Nitrate Ore and Coprolith Lead Ore.
• Alex’s Caves’ Uranium, Uranium Shard, Uranium Rod and Block of Uranium are replaced in recipes and drops by Create Nuclear’s Raw Uranium, Uranium Powder, Uranium Rod and Raw Uranium Block respectively.
• Alex’s Caves’ Uranium Rod is renamed “Uranium Candle” and is now purely decorative, crafted from Iron Ingot + Uranium Rod (Create Nuclear) + Iron Ingot.
• When Alex’s Caves’ Nuclear Bomb explodes, the blast area is converted into an irradiated biome just like a Create Nuclear reactor explosion, and can be cleared the same way.
• Alex’s Caves’ Nuclear Siren and Siren Light can now detect an impending reactor meltdown.
• Create Nuclear’s Uranium Rod and Thorium Rod now work as Nuclear Furnace fuel: a Uranium Rod burns for roughly 512 items, a Thorium Rod for roughly 128 items.
• Create Nuclear’s Anti Radiation armor now matches Alex’s Caves’ Hazmat suit: wearing it grants immunity to radiation, irradiated and acid damage, and the Anti Radiation suit no longer loses durability in acid.
• Create Nuclear reactor explosions can now hatch Tremorzilla Eggs.

Additional Tweaks

• The Nuclear Furnace smelts twice as fast as before.
• The Nuclear Furnace, Metal Barrel, Rusty Barrel, Gingerbarrel and Abyssal Altar are now compatible with Create’s Funnels, Chutes and other automation devices.
• The Nuclear Furnace, Magnetic Quarry and Submarine now have Create-style Ponder tutorials; hold the corresponding item and press W to view them.
• The Abyssal Altar can be targeted by a Mechanical Arm, which can insert and extract items to automate Deep One trading.
• Muck in the Abyssal Chasm can now be smelted into Sea Glass Shards in a Furnace or Blast Furnace.
• Cats and Ocelots turn into Raycats after being continuously irradiated.
• Tremorzilla is immune to Create Nuclear reactor explosions and their knockback, so newly hatched Tremorzillas are not killed instantly.
• Create Nuclear’s Thorium Rod and Uranium Rod can be used as Blaze Burner fuel, providing 80 seconds and 320 seconds of superheating respectively.
• Create Nuclear’s Reactor Alarm now emits a redstone signal when the reactor goes critical, making automation easier.
