Ironwood Horizons is a cozy exploration and industrial progression modpack for Minecraft 1.20.1, built around Create and the idea that the journey should matter just as much as the destination.

Instead of rushing toward teleporters, permanent flight, or one giant base containing everything, Ironwood Horizons encourages you to spread out across the world. Discover new regions, establish outposts, build farms and mines, create industrial centers, and eventually connect everything together through railways, ships, roads, and other physical logistics.

The goal is to create a world that feels like it actually grew alongside you.

🚂 Logistics Matter

Ironwood Horizons is designed around physical transportation.

There are intentionally no easy teleportation networks or permanent creative-style flight systems intended to make distance meaningless.

If valuable resources are far away, the answer isn’t supposed to be pressing a teleport button.

The answer might be:

• Build a mining outpost.
• Establish a processing facility.
• Construct a railway.
• Create a port.
• Send freight back to your main settlement.
• Eventually turn that little outpost into an entire town.

Trains aren’t just decoration here. They’re infrastructure.

With geological resource generation and expanded world generation, mining and exploration are meant to feel different from standard Minecraft.

Large mineral deposits encourage prospecting and dedicated mining operations instead of simply digging underneath your house forever.

As Ironwood Horizons continues development, regional resource distribution and progression will be expanded even further to make different parts of the world increasingly valuable.

Furniture, expanded building blocks, cooking, farming, seasons, environmental sounds, improved snow, wildlife, and visual enhancements help maintain a relaxing atmosphere between larger projects.

Some days you might build an enormous factory.

Other days you might just renovate your kitchen.

Both count as progression.

Farmer’s Delight and its expansions add a large food and farming system alongside the industrial progression.

Grow crops, build kitchens, prepare meals, brew drinks, and create farms that can eventually become part of your automation network.

Ironwood Horizons is built with beautiful worlds in mind.

Performance and visual optimization mods allow players with capable systems to combine the pack with shaders, extended view distances, improved sound, and other visual enhancements without sacrificing the large-scale worlds the pack encourages.
