Create: Power

Bring more power to your Create factory!

Create: Power is an addon for Create that adds several new ways to generate rotational power. Whether you want to use sunlight, wind, water, lava or traditional fuels, there are plenty of ways to keep your machines running.

The mod also adds a way to connect Create with Forge Energy (FE). With the Dynamo, you can convert rotational power into FE, while the Electric Motor does the opposite and turns electricity into rotational power.

Features

  • Solar Panels: Generate power from sunlight with small and large solar panels.

  • Wind Turbines: Build small, medium or large wind turbines, or try the vertical wind rotor.

  • Geothermal Generator: Use lava and magma blocks to generate power.

  • Water Turbine: Generate rotational power from nearby flowing water.

  • Combustion Generator: Burn coal, wood, charcoal, lava buckets and other fuels.

  • Dynamo: Convert rotational power into Forge Energy.

  • Electric Motor: Use Forge Energy to power your Create machines.

  • Anemometer: Check wind strength and see why a turbine might not be working properly.

All generators connect directly to Create’s shaft system, so you can use them just like other Create machines.

Generators

Generator Speed Max. Stress
Small Solar Panel 16 RPM 160 SU
Large Solar Panel 32 RPM 640 SU
Small Wind Turbine 8–32 RPM 256 SU
Medium Wind Turbine 8–48 RPM 576 SU
Large Wind Turbine 8–64 RPM 1,024 SU
Vertical Wind Rotor 8–24 RPM 288 SU
Geothermal Generator Up to 96 RPM 3,072 SU
Water Turbine 8–48 RPM 1,152 SU
Combustion Generator 48 RPM 960 SU

Actual output depends on the generator and its surroundings.

How the Generators Work

Solar Panels

Solar panels need to be placed outside with a clear view of the sky. They generate power during the day but won’t work while it’s raining.

There are two versions available: a small panel and a larger one with more power output.

Wind Turbines

Wind turbines work better at higher altitudes. The higher you build them, the more wind they can catch.

Weather also makes a difference:

  • Rain increases output by 20%.

  • Thunderstorms provide another 17% bonus.

  • Nearby obstacles can reduce performance.

You can choose between three turbine sizes or use the vertical wind rotor.

Geothermal Generator

The geothermal generator uses lava and magma blocks underneath it to produce rotational power.

For the best results, place it directly above a lava source block.

Water Turbine

The water turbine uses nearby water to generate power. Flowing water gives the best results, making rivers and streams good locations for building one.

Combustion Generator

If renewable energy isn’t enough, you can always use fuel.

Put coal, charcoal, wood or a lava bucket into the generator and it will produce rotational power while burning. Its fuel buffer can last up to 2,000 seconds.

Forge Energy Support

Create: Power also adds two blocks that connect Create’s rotational system with Forge Energy.

Dynamo

The Dynamo converts rotational power into FE.

  • Generates 1 FE/t per RPM.

  • Uses 2 SU per RPM.

  • Can connect to shafts on both sides.

  • Transfers energy to compatible neighboring blocks.

Electric Motor

The Electric Motor converts FE back into rotational power.

  • Runs at 64 RPM.

  • Provides 256 SU.

  • Consumes 160 FE/t while running.

  • Waits until its internal energy buffer has enough power before starting.

This makes it possible to connect Create factories with machines from other mods that use Forge Energy.

Anemometer

Not sure why your wind turbine isn’t working properly?

The Anemometer lets you measure wind strength at your current location or inspect an existing turbine.

It can show the following information:

  • Running: Displays the current RPM and how much of the rotor area is unobstructed.

  • Too Low: The turbine is below Y=40.

  • Blocked: Something is interfering with the rotor. Smoke helps you locate the problem.

  • No Wind: The current dimension doesn’t support wind power.

Getting Started

Getting started is pretty simple if you’re already familiar with Create.

  1. Craft a solar panel and place it somewhere with direct access to the sky.

  2. Connect it to your machines using shafts and gears.

  3. Build wind turbines higher up to get more power.

  4. Try geothermal or water power if you have a suitable location.

  5. Use a Dynamo or Electric Motor if you want to work with Forge Energy.

  6. Combine different generators to build a larger power system.

Crafting

The recipes use materials that should already be familiar to Create players.

Some of the main ingredients include:

  • Blue Stained Glass

  • Copper Sheets and Copper Ingots

  • Brass Casings

  • Andesite Alloy

  • Shafts

  • Generator Coils

  • Rotor Blades

  • Andesite Casings

  • Redstone

Different generators and accessories have their own recipes and fit into Create’s usual crafting progression.

Compatibility

Requirement Version
Minecraft 1.21.1
Mod Loader NeoForge

Create: Power 1.5.2

Required: Create

Make sure you have the correct Minecraft, NeoForge and Create versions installed before adding the mod.

FAQ

Does the mod add solar panels?

Yes, there are small and large solar panels that generate rotational power from sunlight.

Can I build a wind farm?

Yes! There are three different wind turbine sizes, as well as a vertical wind rotor.

Does weather affect wind turbines?

Yes. Rain and thunderstorms increase their output. Obstacles can also reduce their performance.

Can I generate FE?

Yes. The Dynamo converts rotational power into FE, and the Electric Motor converts FE back into rotational power.

Does it work with other mods?

The Dynamo and Electric Motor support Forge Energy, so they can work with compatible FE machines from other mods.

Is Create required?

Yes, Create is a required dependency.

Which Minecraft version does it support?

Version 1.5.2 supports Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge and Create 6.0.0 or newer.

Build your factory, try out different power sources and find the setup that works best for you.

Have fun with Create: Power!
