A NeoForge 1.21.1 add-on for Jurassic Reborn that unlocks the taming system for all ~109 species and adds a complete riding system, mounted combat, and a pile of quality-of-life tweaks. Your T-Rex, Spinosaurus and Giganotosaurus are no longer untameable — hatch them, ride them, fight on them.

Short description (CurseForge field): Tame and ride every dinosaur in Jurassic Reborn — all ~109 species imprintable, a full riding system with mounted attacks, boosted machines, and toggleable frozen metabolism.

✨ Features

Tame ANY species

• 

  All ~109 species — including the ~40 originally untameable apex predators (Tyrannosaurus, Spinosaurus, Giganotosaurus, etc.) — now imprint on you at hatching.

• Sneak-hatching still skips imprinting, preserving the original design.

 Taming Stick

• New item in the creative Tools tab: right-click any wild dinosaur to tame it instantly (keeps its current growth stage).

 Complete riding system

• Hold a Carrot on a Stick and right-click an adult (75%+ growth) tamed dinosaur to mount; sneak to dismount.

• Ground: turning + auto step-up. Water: dive and ascend. Air: take off, climb and dive.

• Per-species seat offsets, hand-tuned so you sit properly on every body shape.

• While ridden, your dinosaur won’t fight, sleep or sit — a pure mount.

 Mounted combat (middle mouse)

• Press middle mouse (rebindable) to make your mount attack whatever is under your crosshair.

• Uses JR’s own attack: animation, sound and per-species damage.

• Forward cone attack: 8-block range, ~90° arc, 5-block height tolerance.

• Attack cooldown bar + sprint stamina bar on the HUD while riding.

• Creative pick-block is disabled while riding (survival picking untouched).

Quality of life

• Frozen metabolism: tamed dinosaurs never get hungry or thirsty (toggleable, see Configuration).

• Fall-damage threshold 6 blocks: all dinosaurs safely drop up to 6 blocks.

• Peace rules: tamed dinosaurs never attack players or other tamed dinosaurs; flyers and marine creatures never fight their own kind.

• Boosted machines: Fossil Grinder ×5, Hatchery ×10, Embryo Machine ×10, fossil/soft-tissue extraction always succeeds.

• Owner defense: every species will defend you in follow mode.

• GeckoLib 4.9.2 (neoforge)

• JEI (optional, but recommended)

Install on both the client and server.

 Configuration

config/jr_tame_all-common.toml — frozenMetabolism (default true). Set to false to let your tamed dinosaurs get hungry and thirsty again (vanilla JR metabolism). Restart the game to apply.

❓ FAQ

How do I tame a dinosaur? Hatch its egg while not sneaking, or use the Taming Stick on any wild adult.

How do I ride? The dinosaur must be tamed and adult (>75% growth). Hold a Carrot on a Stick and right-click it. Sneak to dismount.

How do I attack while riding? Middle-click (rebindable in the JR Tame All keybind category).

Does this mod modify Jurassic Reborn? No. It is a runtime Mixin add-on — the original JR jar stays untouched, and no JR code or assets are redistributed.

Can I control which features are active? The frozen-metabolism feature has a config toggle. Everything else is always on.

 Notes

• Unofficial third-party add-on — no affiliation with the Jurassic Reborn team.

• This mod’s own code is MIT licensed. Jurassic Reborn itself must be obtained from official sources.

• If Jurassic Reborn updates incompatibly, this mod fails loudly (crash) rather than silently breaking — that’s intentional.
