Classic Edition aims to preserve the gameplay and charm of the original mod while making it accessible to older Minecraft versions and modpacks, with additional compatibility and customization features tailored to legacy Minecraft.

Farming & Agriculture

• Grow cabbage, tomatoes, onions, and rice.

Universal Adaptive Backporter (UAB) (1.7.10 & 1.12.2)

Optional UAB integration restores recipes and features that depend on newer Minecraft content.

• Restores berry, honey, Nether, aquatic, and other modern ingredient recipes.
• Expands crafting and cutting support for modern wood types.
• Restores Netherite Knife upgrades through native smithing.
• Adds compatibility with campfires, bamboo, scaffolding, and other modern blocks.
• Automatically adjusts recipe availability based on enabled UAB features.
• Fixes additional legacy recipe compatibility issues specific to each Minecraft version.

UAB is entirely optional.

Recipe Scripting (1.7.10 & 1.12.2)

Added optional MineTweaker 3 (1.7.10) and CraftTweaker 2 (1.12.2) support for modpack customization.

• Add, remove, or replace Cooking Pot, Cutting Board, and Skillet/Stove recipes.
• Customize ingredients, outputs, cooking times, servings, and drop chances.
• Supports Ore Dictionary ingredients, metadata, and NBT.
• Supports compatible addon recipes through the same scripting APIs.
• Includes example scripts and documentation.
• Supports /mt reload on 1.7.10; 1.12.2 requires a restart after script changes.

Neither scripting engine is required for normal gameplay.

Addon Compatibility

Classic Edition supports four legacy addons:

• Brewin’ & Chewin’: Classic Edition — Fermentation, cheeses, and drinks.
• Corn’s Delight: Classic Edition — Corn cultivation and additional meals.
• Ocean’s Delight: Classic Edition — Seafood and ocean-themed cooking.
• End’s Delight: Classic Edition — End-themed foods and equipment.

All four benefit from improved recipe compatibility and shared scripting support. Brewin’ & Chewin’ additionally supports Fermentation Keg scripting.

Recipe Viewer Integration

Optional NEI and JEI integration displays Cooking Pot, Cutting Board, Stove, and Skillet recipes, including ingredients, cooking times, and additional outputs.

Supported scripted recipe changes are reflected in the native recipe catalogs.

None of these integrations are required for ordinary gameplay.

Legacy Differences

Some features from the original mod depend on Minecraft content introduced after these versions.

Recipes involving unavailable ingredients, mobs, or blocks are omitted where necessary rather than introducing unrelated replacements. UAB can restore many of these recipes on supported versions, but does not guarantee complete modern recipe coverage.

External processing integrations such as Create, Botany Pots, Immersive Engineering, and Farmer’s Respite require actual compatible implementations. Farmer’s Delight does not substitute unrelated machines or processing systems for missing dependencies.

Certain interactions, particularly handheld Skillet usage, may differ between Minecraft versions due to older gameplay mechanics.
