Block Outline Tweaks

Block Outline Tweaks is a client-side mod that gives you much more control over Minecraft’s block selection outline.

You can customize the outline’s colors, opacity, width, animations, movement, fill, and more. The goal of the mod is to make block selection look smoother and give you enough options to create your own style.

Beta Warning

This mod is currently in beta, so bugs are expected.

There is currently a known issue with Smooth Movement when switching between blocks with very different selection shapes.

For example, moving the outline from a normal full block to something like a hopper can sometimes generate a huge amount of particles and cause severe FPS drops.

If you experience this issue, disabling Smooth Movement should prevent it until a proper fix is available.

Other bugs may also be present while the mod is still in beta.

Features

Smooth Movement

Instead of instantly snapping from one block to another, the outline can smoothly move between targeted blocks.

You can adjust how the movement behaves and choose different easing modes.

Smooth Movement is still experimental and is affected by the known issue mentioned above.

Outline Customization

You can customize:

• Color
• Opacity
• Line width
• Smooth movement
• Easing
• Pulse effect

Gradients and RGB

The outline can use a two-color gradient with separate primary and secondary colors.

The gradient can also be animated, and its animation speed can be adjusted.

There is also an RGB mode for continuously changing colors.

Fill

The selected block can also have a customizable fill.

The fill can be synchronized with the outline so you do not have to configure the same settings twice.

If synchronization is disabled, the fill can be customized separately with its own:

• Colors
• Opacity
• Gradient
• RGB mode
• Pulse effect
• Animation settings

This means the fill can either match the outline or have a completely different style.

Client-Side

Block Outline Tweaks is completely client-side.

It only changes how block selection is rendered on your screen.

It does not modify gameplay, blocks, or world data, and it does not need to be installed on the server.
