Slate Early Window

Beta. An early build of Slate: expect bugs, you can report them on the Discord.

Slate Early Window draws the window the game starts in, before any mod has loaded, and hands it to the loading screen without a jump. It replaces the loader’s own start-up window on NeoForge 1.21.1 and Forge 1.20.1, and follows Slate UI’s layout and style when that is installed.

Two scenes

• Without Create: a floating island over a sea of clouds builds itself block by block as the game loads.
• With Create: a factory of Create’s own models, with a lava tank as high as the memory in use.

The card

• With Slate UI’s Custom layout: one card with what is loading, the latest log line and a progress bar.

Start-up timer

• A clock from the moment the game started, and a bar that moves by how long the last starts took.
• A toast on the first screen says how long it took ("Loaded in 0:18.5").

Requirements

NeoForge 1.21.1 (Java 21) or Forge 1.20.1 (Java 17). Client only; it needs no other mod. On Forge the first start still shows Forge’s window, and Slate’s from the second start on. If you remove the jar, set earlyWindowProvider in config/fml.toml back to fmlearlywindow.
