Graves OG

Never lose your stuff again. When you die, Graves OG lays everything you carried in a grave right where you fell: every item, your armor, your off-hand and all of your experience. Walk back, right-click the headstone, and it all returns to the exact slot it came from. No despawn timer, no lava, no void, no lost diamonds.

Back at your grave with the compass in hand: the info says how you died and what it holds, and one right-click puts every item, your armor and your experience back where they were.

• 🧭 Grave compass: respawn and you get a compass named Compass to Steve’s Grave that points straight at your grave, wherever it is in that dimension. It disappears as soon as you open the grave. (Minecraft 1.16 and newer.)
• 🪧 Death info: look at a grave to read, floating above it, how its owner died, how many items and levels it holds, and who can open it.
• ⚙️ Config file for servers and co-op worlds: open graves to everyone after a few minutes, keep only part of the experience, or switch the compass off.

• 🪦 A grave where you fell, with your name and the day you died carved in gold on the headstone.
• 🎒 Everything goes in: main inventory, hotbar, armor and off-hand (on Forge and NeoForge, also what other mods drop on death).
• ✨ All your experience is kept (by default), not just the few levels vanilla drops.
• 🔁 Back in the same slots: your hotbar is just as you left it and your armor goes straight back on.
• 🔒 Only you can open it. Other players get a polite “This is Steve’s grave.” Operators in creative can open any grave, and servers can open graves to everyone after a few minutes (see the config).
• 💥 Indestructible: as tough as bedrock, immune to TNT, creepers, the Wither and the Ender Dragon, and pistons can’t push it.
• 🗺️ You’ll find it: the chat tells you the grave’s coordinates and dimension the moment you die, and you respawn with a compass that points to it.
• 🌱 Light and simple: works out of the box, no dependencies (except Fabric API on Fabric), no extra items or keys to craft.

• 🔥 Died in lava? The grave rises to the first safe block above it.
• 🕳️ Fell into the void? The grave waits at the bottom of the world, on a cobblestone block, so you can come and get it.
• 🧊 No room? It looks for the nearest free spot a few blocks around, in water if it must.
• 💀 Curse of Vanishing still works: those items disappear, like in vanilla.
• 🟰 keepInventory on? Then no grave is made and nothing changes.
• 👊 Right-click or punch your grave to open it. Breaking it in creative hands its contents back to its owner.

⚙️ Config (config/gravesog.properties, made on first start; the same file on every loader):

• Install it on both the server and the clients. Works in single player and multiplayer.
• Plays nicely with death-cancelling mods (totems, revives): the grave is only made once you really die.
• Works with Sodium, Iris and shader packs (the screenshots below use Complementary Reimagined).
• Every version is tested in-game and on a dedicated server before release: dying normally, with keepInventory, in lava, in the void, the compass, the info, the unlock timer, opening someone else’s grave and blowing one up with TNT.
