Eldritch Adventures

A lightweight modpack for my friends to enjoy on our multiplayer server. Stays under 100 mods to mitigate technical issues.

Current Release Version includes many basic QoL mods and 2 different magic mods with plenty of addons: Ars Nouveau and Iron’s Spells and Spellbooks. Other mods, such as Farmer’s Delight and Goblin Traders, add a touch more in-game enjoyment for non-casters.

Beta Version, which may replace the current Release Version, includes Kingdoms: Villager Retaliation!, related resource packs, and addons for Iron’s Spells and Spellbooks. Will no longer include Ars Nouveau to keep the magic system more simple and streamlined (as well as a matter of personal preference). More Iron’s Spells addons will be incorporated as they develop so long as they are not overpowered or break the modpack (looking at you, Ozymandias Sundries).

If you cannot start a Singleplayer World, change your Modloader Version to 21.1.259.

If Villager and Golem textures get wierd for you, follow these steps:

Resource Pack Order:

1. VillagerRetaliationXHumanEraVillagers

2. HumanEraVillagersIllagers

3. Everything else

Mod Config:

1. Go to Main Menu → Mods → Villager Retaliation! → Config → Villager Model Mode: Human Compatibility

2. Enable built-in Shader (BSL)

Key Features

Magic System. This modpack is host to Iron’s Spells and Spellbooks, as well as a plethora of addons for more spells, gear, and even the ability to craft one’s own spellbook. To get started, put together a guidebook by combining Arcane Dust and a Book. Arcane Dust can be found in mage tower chests, or crafted using Lapis Lazuli and Amethyst.

Fine Cuisine. Many of the Delight cooking and farming mods have been incorporated. Become the chef you always wanted to be.

Living Villages. Kingdoms: Villager Retaliation! makes every Villager their own individual, named NPC you can talk to, build reputation with, do quests for, and even ask to go on adventures. Be mindful, things like harm to them or taking from their chests while they are watching can reduce reputation and even make them hostile toward you. Reputation can always be built back, but it will take time and effort.

Goblins, Kobolds, and Merfolk, Oh My! Kobold villages can be found and bartered in the underground, and they do so love being tossed Emeralds. Goblin traders will randomly pop up during your mining excursions as well. Meanwhile, Merfolk can be found in most bodies of water and love being given fish.

Big Bad Bosses. Super powerful bosses can be found in their own pocket dimensions if you can craft their respective orbs. However, be prepared for tough fights. Defeating them grants powerful rewards.

Sailing and Sieges. Large, multi-person boats and siege weapons can be crafted. Enjoy.
