Become a martial artist in the world of murim. Join a sect, learn its arts, cultivate your inner power and rise from a nameless Mortal to a master who can split mountains, walk on air and bend the battlefield with a single domain.

Murimcraft brings the feel of Korean martial arts stories to Minecraft: sword waves of plum blossoms, thunder palms, golden Buddha hands, cinematic breakthroughs and duels that are worth watching just for the spectacle.

Choose your sect

Six sects are waiting somewhere out in the world. Each has its own home, its own element and its own style of fighting.

• Mount Hua: flowing swordplay and plum blossoms, high in the mountains
• Shaolin: iron fists, monk discipline and the largest library of arts
• Wudang: soft, circling Taiji techniques among the bamboo
• Namgung: a proud clan of lightning swordsmen on the plains
• Heavenly Demon Cult: forbidden fire arts and a cult that rules its own mountain lands
• Green Forest: the bandit brotherhood of the wilds

Find a sect’s master, ask to join, and you receive its manual. As you grow stronger, the manual teaches you more.

Cultivate your power

Your strength is measured in realms. Fight, explore, meditate and brew pills to gather inner qi. When you reach a bottleneck, sit down and attempt a breakthrough.

Mortal → Third-Rate → Second-Rate → First-Rate → Peak → Transcendent → Harmony → Profound → Life and Death

Every breakthrough is a moment of its own, with cinematics and, at the higher realms, heavenly lightning. Push too hard and you risk qi deviation.

Each realm also changes how you move:

• Light steps and longer jumps early on
• Air steps and wall running in the middle realms
• Walking on air and gliding later
• True free flight at the top

Fight like a master

• Over 60 techniques: sword forms, fist combos, qi blasts, buffs and ultimate arts. Put your favourites in a six-slot loadout or pick them from the skill wheel.
• Parry, dodge and counter: time a perfect parry and your next blow lands as a devastating counter. Skill beats button mashing.
• Domains: at the Harmony realm your sect’s domain awakens. It surrounds you with your sect’s power, strengthens your allies, crushes your enemies and, at the highest realms, reshapes the land itself.
• Meridian Touch: strike pressure points to mute, root, disarm or put an opponent to sleep.
• Killing Intent: freeze weaker foes in place with your presence alone.

A living martial world

The world is full of things to find and people to meet.

• Two great powers: the Heavenly Demon Cult in the north and the Murim Alliance of the orthodox sects in the south, with its great city and four sect quarters
• Cities, towns and villages where people work, trade, brew ale, farm and sleep, and keep going while you are away
• Roads that connect it all, travelled by patrols, couriers, merchant caravans and bandits. Ambushes, duels, wounded travellers and wandering hermits wait along the way.
• Herbs and alchemy: gather spirit herbs that grow older and stronger the deeper into the wilds you go, then refine them into pills in a pill furnace
• Tea, ale, wagons and carts, a hidden black market that only opens at night, and ancient tombs to plunder

Rule and wage war

Earn merit and climb the ranks of your sect. Once you are an Elder, the War Map Table is yours:

• Rule holdings, fill the treasury, feed your people, issue decrees and deal with your council
• Raise standing armies and march them along the roads
• Lay sieges and negotiate peace
• When armies clash near you, the fight becomes a mass battle with hundreds of soldiers. Lead from the front or command the lines yourself.

Ambitious? Challenge other players to duels, or fight for a title seat in the arena and defend it against everyone who comes for it.

Getting started

All keys can be changed in Options → Controls. Effects, camera shake, cinematics and the HUD can be adjusted in I → Settings if you prefer a calmer look.
