☢️ NukeCoreCraft 1.0.0

One craftable block. One cinematic nuclear blast. Light the Atomic Core, run, and watch the flash, the fireball, a shockwave that flattens forests, and a mushroom cloud that hangs over a scorched crater full of lethal fallout.

1.0.0 is a full rewrite for Forge 1.20.1. It shows up as NukeCraft in your mod list.

💥 The Blast

• Flash: a white-out you can see from up to 2048 blocks away.
• Fireball: it erupts and climbs into the stem.
• Circular shockwave: the ring spreads as a true circle and flattens trees to stumps as it passes.
• Mushroom cloud: stem, rolling cap, condensation ring and plasma rings. It hangs in the sky for about 70 seconds.
• Scorched terrain: a deep crater, scorched ground, sand turned to glass, melted snow and ice, and thermal-pulse fires.
• EMP: redstone near the blast gets fried.
• Delayed boom: the sound arrives at the speed of sound, so distance matters.
• Blast radius: 500 blocks by default, configurable up to 2000.

Items & Blocks

Survival Recipes

• Atomic Core: 1 Nether Star in the center, 4 Netherite Ingots in the corners, 4 TNT on the edges.
• Multi-Detonator:
  • Top row: Diamond, Eye of Ender, Diamond.
  • Middle row: Remote Detonator, Comparator, Remote Detonator.
  • Bottom row: 3 Gold Ingots.
  • The Remote Detonator ingredient is Iron Ingots around an Ender Pearl, Redstone and a Redstone Torch.
• Hazmat Suit: Yellow Wool in the usual armor shapes. The helmet has a Glass Pane in the middle.
• Geiger Counter: Iron Ingots, Gold Nuggets and Redstone.

The in-game recipe book shows the exact grid.

☣️ Fallout

• Lethal by default. Near ground zero you get weakness, hunger, poison, wither and damage that can kill you.
• Wear the full hazmat suit to walk the crater safely.
• Contaminated ground stops crops and saplings from growing, and hostile mobs near ground zero get stronger and faster.
• Fallout fades over time.
• Prefer it scary but survivable? Set legacyFallout = false. Radiation is then non-lethal unless radiationHardcore = true.

Config & Commands

• In-game config: press N, or use the Mods menu. The Atomic Core’s control panel has quick toggles.
  • On a server, only operators (permission level 2) can change server settings.
• Server settings (serverconfig/nukecraft-server.toml): blast radius, crater depth, fuse time, shockwave speed, fallout strength, duration and lethality, thermal pulse, EMP, and performance budgets.
• Client settings (config/nukecraft-client.toml): flash, screen shake, haze, particle budget and density, and each cloud phase, individually toggleable.
• Commands (op only):
  • /nuke <x y z> [radius] detonates instantly (radius 50–2000).
  • /killnukecloud removes mushroom clouds.
  • /nukecleanup fallout and /nukecleanup fires|effects|all [radius] clean up afterwards.

Upgrading from 0.2.1

Back up your world before updating.

• Old worlds and configs upgrade automatically.
• Placed Atomic Cores and Atomic Cores in chests and inventories carry over, and detonators keep their links.
• Your old nukecraft-common.toml settings are imported into the new config files the first time they’re created.

The black hole has been removed from NukeCoreCraft. It is being developed as a separate mod, SingularityCore, which hasn’t been released yet. Any Singularity Cores or black holes in old worlds are removed when the world loads.

Requirements

• Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47+.
• Install on both client and server for multiplayer. Singleplayer only needs the client.
