Steam & Stratosphere: Skybound — Season 2 “Ascension”

There is no ground. You wake up on a small floating island, high above an endless sea of clouds. Other islands drift hundreds of blocks away, and the only way to reach them is to build your own airship.

Skybound is a steampunk survival modpack built around Create and Create Aeronautics. Brass, steam, and propellers: that is how you survive in the sky.

🚀 The Ascension (Up to Y500)

Season 2 pushes the limits of the sky. The higher you fly, the richer the ores, but the colder and thinner the air gets. Climb through the five tiers of the Ascension:

• Y400–500 | Stratosphere: Aetherite, aerolite, and the toughest hostile raids.

• Y280–400 | High Altitude: Orichalcum, diamond, and the onset of cold and hypoxia.

• Y200–280 | Brass: Zinc, gold, vaporite.

• Y130–200 | Copper: Copper and your first steam-powered machines.

• Y70–130 | Start: Your island, iron, coal.

Major Ascension Features:

• New Custom Ores & Alloys: Vaporite, orichalcum, and aetherite (with veins that glow in the dark). Craft advanced alloys (Orichalcum Brass, Steam Steel, and Aetheric Alloy) requiring materials from multiple tiers.

• Tier Tools & Drills: Each ore requires the matching tier pickaxe, or a portable drill (Create Stuff ‘N Additions) equipped with the proper drill head.

• Cold & Cabin Pressurizers: Above Y280, protect yourself with insulated armor, a diving helmet, and an air tank, or install a cabin pressurizer (a Create machine that generates a warm, breathable air bubble around your ship).

• Dedicated Questline: One chapter per tier, with the first quest of each chapter automatically completing once you reach the target altitude.

☁️ A World of Floating Islands

• Aero Islands Generator: Varied islands (deserts, jungles, forests, swamps, snowy peaks) generated across all altitudes.

• Starting Kit: Oak saplings, wheat seeds, a block of coal, and super glue.

• The Void Does Not Forgive: If you fall, your items await you in a corpse far below. Go retrieve them by airship.

🎈 Airships & Engineering (True Steampunk)

• Create Aeronautics: Assemble flying machines, from a simple hot-air balloon to a massive brass ship.

• No Rocket Thrusters: Ships run on steam and propellers. Levitation cores keep heavy structures afloat high above.

• Block Armor Plating: Armor almost any full block. It keeps its appearance, resists explosions, and retains its true weight in flight.

• Your Home Follows Your Ship: Right-click a bed aboard to set your spawn point. Wherever your ship sails, /home brings you right back to it.

⚔️ A Dangerous Sky

• Aerial Ambushes: Enemy airships patrol and scale the difficulty of their raids based on your altitude.

• Exploration: Visit floating villages, shipwrecks, and sky galleons.

• Defense: Use cannons (Create Big Cannons), radars, shield generators, and firearms.

🧭 Classes & Progression

• 6 Classes to Choose From: Aeronaut, Gunner, Engineer, Corsair, High-Altitude Miner, and Quartermaster (each with unique strengths and starting gear).

• Bilingual Quest Book (FR/EN): Survival, flight, ascension, Create, metallurgy, and defense.

• Endgame in the End: Hunt the 16 eyes of End Remastered and explore an End completely overhauled by BetterEnd and YUNG’s.

🌿 Comfort & Atmosphere

• Cooking & Survival: Farmer’s Delight, Ratatouille, Traveler’s Backpack, Supplementaries, and Lootr (per-player loot).

• Immersion: Simple Voice Chat (proximity voice), Distant Horizons (extended render distance), and What Are They Up To (player animations).

• Visuals Included: Faithful 64x, Fresh Animations, and SS Core x64 HD resource packs enabled by default.

• Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge.

• RAM: At least 8 GB allocated to the game is recommended.

• ⚠ Important (New World): Season 2 requires a brand-new world. Season 1 worlds are not compatible.
