Chocobo Whistles

This mod introduces 7 colorful chocobos into the Overworld, each with its own whistle! Summon them as flying mounts, explore the world with your loyal companions, and, starting with Minecraft 26.3, call them into battle!

How to obtain whistles?

-Find Gysahl Seeds in Overworld structure chests (~8% chance, increased to ~33% in 26.3).
-Grow Gysahl Greens and collect additional seeds. Bone meal can also be used, with some limitations.
-Feed wild chocobos with Gysahl Greens to obtain feathers matching their color (~20% chance).
-Craft a whistle using 8 matching chocobo feathers and a stick.
-Whistles can also rarely be found in Nether and End chests (~1% chance).
-Summon your new companion and explore the world!

Flying Mounts

-Right-click with a whistle to summon your chocobo.
-While riding, repeatedly press Space to gain or maintain altitude. Look downward to descend faster.
-Sneak to dismount and dismiss your chocobo.
-Commands are available to enable or disable chocobo sounds and music.

New V3.0 (only for Minecraft 26.3+) – Combat Companions!

Your chocobos can now fight alongside you! Each color has its own unique combat ability. Wild chocobo colors are now determined by their biomes, so explore different environments to discover them all!

–Yellow – Warrior: Found across grassy plains and savannas. Charges enemies and fights in melee combat.
–White – Healer: Wanders through forests and taigas. Stays close and periodically restores your health.
–Red – Pyromancer: Loves hot deserts and badlands. Burns enemies with ranged fire attacks.
–Blue – Frost Mage: Thrives in snowy mountains. Unleashes freezing AoE attacks that damage and slow enemies.
–Green – Poison Mage: Hides in swamps and mangroves. Poisons groups of nearby enemies.
–Pink – Tactician: Prefers beautiful cherry groves and flower forests. Grants a random beneficial combat buff.
–Black – ???: Extremely rare and incredibly powerful. Good luck finding one!

How to summon a combat companion?

-Obtain a chocobo feather by feeding a wild chocobo with Gysahl Greens.
–You must have the matching Chocobo Whistle in your inventory to summon it into battle.
-Sneak + Right-click with the matching feather to summon your combat companion.
-Your chocobo arrives after a short summoning delay.
-Each successful summon consumes one feather.
-Combat companions remain for 30 seconds (5 seconds for Black and Pink).
-A shared 5-minute cooldown applies to all combat summons.
-Only one combat companion can be summoned at a time.
-Combat is enabled by default and can be disabled with a command.

Additional improvements in 3.0

-Gysahl Seeds are easier to find and farm.
-Gysahl crops grow approximately twice as fast (~3 Minecraft days).
-Chocobo colors now spawn in their corresponding biomes instead of using the previous rarity system.
-Multilingual support with 11 languages, automatically following your Minecraft language settings.
