介绍

Emberwild Journey
Light a fire. The wild is waiting.
Emberwild Journey is a Fabric 26.3 modpack about leaving home and coming back to it. A hundred new biomes to cross, a pack on your back, a waystone to bring you home, and a base where everything you own is one search away.
It is built around five original mods made for this pack. Where other packs bundle a waystone mod, a backpack mod, a storage mod, an enchanting mod and a villager mod from five different authors, Emberwild Journey has one of each, designed together, with matching art and screens, and nothing else in the pack doing the same job twice.
- 92 mods, hand-picked, every one on a stable release for 26.3 where one exists
- 8 shader packs and 6 resource packs included and switched off, so you choose how the game looks
- Tested as a whole: the full pack boots on a dedicated server and in the client, and the originals pass 111 automated checks with every other mod loaded
- A quest book that shows the way and never blocks it. No forced progression, no tech tree: still Minecraft, with more world and less busywork

The five originals
Lodeways: Waystones
- Craft a Waystone (amethyst, gold, an ender pearl, polished deepslate), place it and name it.
- Right-click any waystone to see the others in a scrolling list with distance and cost, and travel with one click.
- Travel costs experience by distance and has a short cooldown, so it is a choice and not a free teleport.
- Way Charts: use paper on a waystone to write a chart of it. A friend who reads the chart knows the waystone without the walk.
- With many waystones, a search box filters the list by name.
- Pets come along: tamed pets that follow you and animals on your lead travel with you. Pets told to sit stay home.
- Public waystones: the owner sneak-right-clicks a waystone with an empty hand to make it public, and everyone can travel there without finding it first.
- Warp Stone: opens your waystone list from anywhere, for the trip’s levels plus three, then recharges for a minute.
- Cost, cooldown and limits are in
config/lodeways.json. - Walk-up discovery: come within six blocks of a waystone and it joins your list.
discoverRangein the config changes the distance or turns it off. - Arrival guard: five seconds of Resistance after you arrive, so a landing next to a mob is survivable.
arrivalGuardSecondsin the config turns it off. - Nearest first: the travel list now starts with the closest waystone, other dimensions after, A-Z. listOrder “name” in config/lodeways.json brings back A-Z.
- Friends come along: other players within 3 blocks who sneak when you travel arrive with you, free of charge.
- Horses come along: your own tamed horses, donkeys, mules and llamas within 16 blocks travel with you, like dogs do.
- Pearl fare: short of levels for a trip? An ender pearl from your inventory pays it instead.
- Waystone compass: a compass used on a waystone becomes a lodestone-style compass pointing there.
- /waystones: the command says how many waystones you know and which one is nearest in the dimension you stand in.

Haversack: Backpacks
- Four tiers: Leather (18 slots), Iron (27), Diamond (36), Netherite (54). Upgrading keeps what is inside.
- Every pack tidies itself when you open it: equal stacks merge and line up by name.
- Four charms that slot into the pack: Magnet (pulls in drops within 6 blocks), Feeding (feeds you and your tamed pets from the pack), Compacting (presses nine ingots, gems or nuggets into their block), Restocking (keeps the stacks in your hotbar full).
- With a Feeding Charm fitted, a button under the charms chooses how it feeds you: no waste, always full or only when hurt.
- Sneak and use to set the pack down as a block. It keeps its contents, works with hoppers, and joins a Stowage network.
- Each tier has its own screen and its own block model. With Shulker Box Tooltip installed, hovering a pack shows what is inside.
- Open-pack key (B by default, in Controls): opens the first pack you carry, no need to take it in hand.
- Void Charm: hold it with a junk item in the other hand and right-click to teach it. It deletes that item from the pack and your main inventory; the hotbar is never touched.
- Gathering Charm: whatever lands in your main inventory that the pack already holds goes straight into the pack. The hotbar is left alone.
- Overflow: with a full inventory, drops you walk over go into a pack you carry instead of staying on the ground. No charm needed.
- Sneak to pause the Magnet Charm: while you sneak, drops stay where they are.
- Lighting Charm: underground in the dark, the pack sets a torch from its storage at your feet. Sneak to hold it back. It never lights fields under open sky.
- Unload into chests: sneak and use a pack on a chest, and everything the chest already holds goes into it.
- Tool swap: with a Restocking Charm, a hotbar tool that breaks is replaced by a spare of the same kind from the pack.
- Honey cure: the Feeding Charm drinks a honey bottle from the pack when you are poisoned, and leaves the empty bottle behind.
- Armour swap: the Restocking Charm swaps in a spare armour piece from the pack when a worn one breaks.
- Milk for the wither: with a Feeding Charm, a milk bucket in the pack is drunk when you are withering, and clears the rest of your effects too.

Sigilry: Runes
- The Rune Altar inscribes the rune you choose. No lottery: one Blank Rune and 8 levels buy exactly the rune you picked.
- Eighteen runes: Leech, Frost, Venom, Vitality, Swift, Stride, Reach, Tenacity, Magnetism, Smelting, Featherfall, Night Eye, Renewal, Haste, Spring, Bulwark, Tide, Gills, each with two levels.
- Renewal slowly mends the gear it is on, worn or carried; Haste digs faster; Spring jumps higher; Bulwark adds armor toughness; Tide moves faster in water; Gills holds your breath longer.
- Magnetism picks up drops near you while the tool is in hand, Smelting makes ores drop ingots, Featherfall lets you fall further without harm, Night Eye gives Night Vision while worn.
- Apply a rune stone to gear in an anvil. One rune per item, so you have to decide.
- Runes are ordinary data-driven enchantments, so tooltips, recipe viewers and Enchantment Descriptions all understand them.
- Lifting: sneak and use runed gear on a Rune Altar to take the rune back off as a rune stone of the same level, for the altar’s level cost.
- Level III: Vitality, Swift, Stride, Reach, Tenacity, Featherfall, Spring, Bulwark, Tide and Gills go one level further. Combine two level II rune stones in an anvil.
- Upgrade at the altar: sneak-use a rune stone on a Rune Altar to raise it one level for a Blank Rune and levels (8 for II, 24 for III). No second stone needed.
- Bookshelves help: every five bookshelves near a Rune Altar take a level off the price of a rune, up to three.
- No anvil needed: hold gear in your off hand and use a rune stone, and the rune goes straight on for three levels.
- Magnetism picks up experience orbs as well as drops.
- Level III: Haste and Renewal go up to level III.
- Magnetism III: combine two level II Magnetism stones. It pulls drops and experience from eight blocks away.

Stowage: Networked storage
- Put a Storage Terminal against your chests. Every chest, barrel and shulker box touching it, each other, or a Storage Conduit becomes one searchable list.
- Search box, sort by amount or name, scroll through everything you own.
- Click to take a stack, right-click for half, shift-click your own items to store them. Items go to the chest that already holds that item.
- Craft straight from the network: the 3×3 grid refills itself from storage, shift-click crafts until you run out.
- Recipe “+” button: with a terminal open, the plus on any crafting recipe in Itemwise (or JEI) lays that recipe out on the grid from storage. Shift-click it for as many as you have items for.
- Recipe keys work on stored items: point at anything in the list and press R for its recipes or U for its uses. The terminal is listed as a place to craft.
- Compact button: packs every nine ingots, gems, nuggets and the like in storage into their block.
- Works with the mods around it: Crafting Tweaks buttons rotate, balance and clear the grid, Farmer’s Delight cabinets and baskets count as storage, and Lootr chests are left alone.
- Hoppers feed it: point a hopper at the terminal and whatever it pushes is sorted into the network. A full network leaves the items in the hopper.
- Nothing is stored in the terminal. Break it and every item is still in its chest.
- Wireless Terminal: use it on a Storage Terminal to link it, then open that network from anywhere in the same dimension.
- Storage Exporter: set it against a furnace, dropper or chest and use an item on it: it keeps sending that item out of storage into the block. Redstone pauses it.
- An Exporter with no item chosen pulls instead: a furnace’s results, a brewing stand’s potions or a dropper’s contents go into storage.
- Search by mod: type
@minecraftor@farmersdelightin the search box to list only what comes from that mod. - Smarter search: #tag finds items by tag (#logs, #ores, #c:ingots), and several words must all match (“@create #plates”).
- Exporter stock: use a stack on a Storage Exporter and it keeps that many in the block in front, topping it up as it is used.
- Leave things out: a minus in front of a search word turns it around.
#logs -oaklists every log but oak. - Comparators read the network: a comparator next to a Storage Terminal shows how full all of storage is.
- Kind search: type
~food,~tool,~armor,~block,~enchantedor~damagedin the search box. - Read the network: use a comparator on a terminal for how many containers it reaches, how many kinds of item and how full. Sneak to place the comparator instead.

Hearthfolk: Villagers
- The Trade Ledger lists every trade of every villager within 48 blocks, with prices and stock.
- Trade from the ledger: click a line to buy once, shift-click to buy as many as you can afford. No walking between stalls.
- Right-click a line and that villager glows, so you can find them.
- Discounts are capped at 30 percent. Curing zombie villagers no longer gets you one-emerald everything.
- Villagers stock more as they rank up, and a Trade Contract rerolls the offers of a villager you have not traded with yet.
- Reroll button: on the trade screen of a villager nobody has traded with yet, one click draws new trades. No breaking and replacing the workstation.
- Search and stars: the ledger has a search box, and Ctrl-click stars a trade so it stays at the top of the list.
- Villagers take a lead: villagers and wandering traders can be leashed, so moving one to its new home is a walk.
- Villagers restock when you talk to them, workstation or not, at most twice a day as in vanilla.
restockOnTalkin the config turns it off. - Emerald gifts: sneak and use an emerald on a villager and it trusts you a little more, so its prices drop a little.
emeraldGiftTrustin the config turns it off. - Villager lure: hold a block of emerald and villagers within 10 blocks follow you, so moving them to a trading hall is a walk. lureRange in config/hearthfolk.json (0 turns it off).
- Who works here: sneak and use a workstation with an empty hand, and the villager who claimed it glows for ten seconds.
- Feed a hurt villager: sneak and use bread, a carrot, a potato or a beetroot on a hurt villager to heal it 3 hearts per item.
- Bell call: ring a bell by hand and every villager within 32 blocks glows for ten seconds, with a head count.
- Quick look: sneak and use an empty hand on a villager to see its level and stock.
- Who sleeps here: sneak and use a bed with an empty hand and the villager who claimed it glows.

The Journey Book

- You start with the Journey Book: 49 quests in eight chapters that walk through the pack, from the first campfire to the End.
- Each quest says what to do and pays a small reward. None of them is required, and nothing is locked behind them.
- Every quest is also an advancement, so the vanilla advancement screen shows the same trail. Lost the book? A book and a torch make a new one.
More of our own
Smaller mods, written for this pack like the rest.
Seamstrike: Vein mining
- Hold the Seamstrike key (` by default) and mine one block: every connected block of the same kind comes with it, up to 64. Any block: ore, stone, logs, leaves, gravel, crops.
- The selection is outlined in the world before you swing, with the block count and the shape name beside the crosshair.
- Nine shapes, picked with the mouse wheel while the key is held: Shapeless (the whole seam), Small Tunnel (1×1), Walking Tunnel (1×2), Small Square (3×3), Large Square (5×5), Large Tunnel (3×3 deep), Mining Tunnel (stairs down), Escape Tunnel (stairs up) and Corridor (3×2).
- Right-click works too: a hoe tills, a shovel makes paths and an axe strips the whole selection. With Sowback installed, one right-click on any plant of a field, ripe or not, harvests and replants every ripe one.
- Nothing is free: the tool wears per block and stops before it breaks, Fortune and Silk Touch apply, hunger drains. Ore needs the right pickaxe.
- The drops go straight into your inventory, and what does not fit lands at your feet; the experience flies to you. The key is in Controls; limits are in
config/seamstrike.json. - Tree felling, no key needed: an axe on a log of a real tree takes the whole tree and its leaves, and a sapling goes back in the ground. Log houses are safe (no natural leaves), and sneaking chops one log. Steps aside when FallingTree is installed.
- An eighth shape, Walking Tunnel: one wide, two high, straight in.
- A ninth shape, Corridor: three wide, two high, straight in.
- Ore in the walls: a tunnel, square or staircase also takes every ore vein it uncovers, within maxBlocks. oreInWalls in config/seamstrike.json.
- Lava guard: tunnels, squares and veins leave every block that holds back lava, so a cut never floods you.
- Clear roof: tunnels, squares and staircases also take the sand and gravel resting on them.
- Water guard: a cut leaves blocks that hold back water, when you start on dry rock.
- Fungi: an axe fells huge crimson and warped fungi, wart blocks and shroomlight included.
- More kinds in one: sand and red sand are one kind for tunnels and squares, and so is every colour of terracotta.

Neatfold: Inventory sorting
- Press the sort key (middle mouse button by default) over your inventory or over an open chest: stacks merge and everything lines up in order.
- A small button on the top-right of every sortable screen does the same.
- Your hotbar is never touched. Furnaces, crafting grids and other workstations are left alone.
- Works on chests, barrels, shulker boxes and Haversack packs. The key is in Controls > Inventory.
- Ctrl sorts A-Z: hold Ctrl when you press the key or the button to sort by name instead of by item type.
- Hotbar refill: use up the last block, pearl or torch in your hand, or break a tool, and the next stack of the same item moves in from your inventory.
- Shift stores: hold Shift when you sort an open chest, and everything in your inventory the chest already holds goes into it.
- Off-hand refill: use up the last torch (or anything else) in your off hand and the next stack moves in.
- Ctrl + Shift takes: Ctrl + Shift + sort over an open chest brings you every item you already carry.
- Fullest first: hold Alt while sorting to put the fullest stacks first.
- Hotbar refill reaches the hotbar: the next stack comes from the inventory first, then from the rest of the hotbar.

Sowback: Right-click harvest
- Right-click a ripe crop: it drops its harvest and is a seedling again. Nothing is broken, nothing needs replanting.
- One seed of the harvest goes back into the ground, so you get exactly what breaking and replanting would give.
- Wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroot, nether wart, cocoa, and crops from other mods that are built on the vanilla crop.
- Unripe plants are left alone, so you can sweep a field without looking.
- Hold the Seamstrike key and one right-click anywhere in the field, even on a seedling, harvests every ripe plant in it.
- Hoes harvest a square: right-click with an iron hoe for 3×3, diamond for 5×5, netherite for 7×7. Works from an unripe plant too.
- Sugar cane, cactus and bamboo: right-click to cut them down to their lowest block, which grows back.
- Breaking a ripe crop with a left-click replants it too. Sneak while breaking to rip it out for good.
- Drops go to your inventory: what does not fit lands at the crop.
dropsToInventoryinconfig/sowback.jsonturns it off.

Farstride: Travel
- Roads are faster: dirt paths, stone bricks, bricks and other paving speed you up by 30 percent, so the road home is worth building.
- Walking Staff: in either hand you step up full blocks and walk a little faster.
- Climbing Claws: hold them and climb any wall you walk into, like a ladder.
- Glider: hold it and fly like a small elytra: jump in the air to open it, lean down for speed, pull up to climb. A long fall opens it by itself. It wears while it carries you; leather repairs it.
- Grappling Hook: aim at a block up to 24 blocks away and it pulls you to it.
- Horse Whistle: brings your nearest tamed horse, donkey or mule to you from up to 128 blocks.
- Saddlebags: put them on your own horse for 27 slots of storage. Sneak and right-click with an empty hand to open them.
- Boats row half again as fast.
- Homeward Scroll: read it and you stand at your bed, or at the world spawn if you have none.
- Roads speed up your horse too: the horse you ride gets the 30 percent bonus.
- Updrafts: the heat of a lit campfire lifts anyone gliding over it (glider or elytra), up to 24 blocks above. Build a camp, climb again.
- Road building: use the Walking Staff on grass or dirt and it lays a dirt path three wide across your way.
- Ride home: read a Homeward Scroll in the saddle of your own horse and the horse comes home with you.
- Rising heat: a glider or elytra flying over a lit campfire, lava or a magma block is lifted.
- Furnace lift: a lit furnace or fire lifts a glider.
- Even more heat: a lava cauldron or a lit candle lifts a glider too.

Lapiskeep: Lapis stays in the table
- Lapis you leave in an enchanting table stays in that table. Close the screen, come back later, it is still there.
- The table keeps up to one stack. Break the table and the lapis drops.
- Works for everyone who uses the table, and two players can never take the same lapis twice.
- Lapis blocks too: short of a stack, blocks of lapis in your inventory are unpacked into the slot and the surplus goes back to you.
- Sneak-use: sneak and use lapis on an enchanting table to put it in.
- Lapis blocks too: sneak and use a lapis block on an enchanting table and it goes in as nine lapis, up to a stack.
Smeltwise: Faster furnaces
- Five furnaces that smelt faster than the vanilla one: Copper (2x), Iron (3x), Gold (4x), Diamond (6x) and Netherite (8x, and fire-resistant as an item).
- They are real furnaces: same screen, same hoppers, same recipes, and the fuel burns at the same rate, so each item costs the same fuel and just takes less time.
- Eight ingots around the previous tier make the next one; the diamond furnace takes four diamonds and four glass, and the netherite one is a diamond furnace plus a netherite ingot.

Installing
- Install the CurseForge App, or any launcher that installs CurseForge packs (Prism Launcher, ATLauncher).
- Find Emberwild Journey and press Install. The launcher downloads Minecraft 26.3, Fabric Loader 0.19.5 and every mod.
- Give the game 6 GB of memory (4 GB is the minimum, 8 GB if you use shaders with a long view distance).
- Play.
Playing on a server
Download the server pack from the Files tab, or copy the client mods folder and remove the client-only mods. Everyone who joins needs the pack installed, because the five originals add blocks, items and screens.
Good to know
- JEI only has a beta build for Minecraft 26.3. It has been stable in testing, and it is the one recipe viewer that runs alongside every other mod here.
- World generation is heavier than vanilla. The first minutes in a new world load slowly while the land around you is built.
- Do not add a second waystone, backpack, storage network, enchanting or villager trading mod. The pack is balanced around its own.
Libraries
Installed automatically. You never have to touch them.
| Library | What it does |
|---|---|
| Balm | Library for NetherPortalFix and Crafting Tweaks. |
| CreativeCore | Library for Ambient Sounds. |
| Cloth Config API | Settings screens for several mods. |
| Cristel Lib | Structure settings for Towns and Towers. |
| Fabric API | The base library nearly every Fabric mod needs. |
| Forge Config API Port | Config library for the Fuzs mods. |
| Lithostitched | World generation library for Terralith and Tectonic. |
| MezzConfig | Config library for JEI. |
| MidnightLib | Config library for Repurposed Structures. |
| Polymer | Lets Universal Graves work without a client mod. |
| Prickle | Config library for Enchantment Descriptions. |
