This project was born out of my desire to make the sniffer feel more useful, more integrated and realized as a mob, and just more fun to interact with. Finding new seeds is cool, but it’d be even cooler if they provided some benefit after going to the extended effort of finding and growing them.

This datapack will have you embark on a journey with your sniffer, unearth new seeds from an old world, and tap into their essences to unlock powers from the past.

This is a WIP project with additional content planned, stay tuned!

Features

6 new biome-specific seeds can be dug up by sniffers
5 new plants grow from these seeds
2 new potions (more to come), with splash variants
Each plant has an effect when used on mobs, similar to golden dandelions
Use the plant on mobs a second time to cancel the effect
Some plants may have an effect on the player when consumed
Golden dandelions are obtained through its new seed, rather than crafting
Makes the Torchflower emissive

Content Spoilers

Babbleweed > makes mobs silent
Shimmeroot > makes mobs/players glow
Blaze Bloom > give mobs visual fire
Moon Bud > gives mobs/players low gravity
Stone Berry > turns mobs into statues when fed enough

Blaze Bloom and Moon Bud can be used for new potions
