介绍

Seamless Glowing Ores is a resource pack that makes ores glow in the dark. An optional outline joins
touching ore of the same type into one shape, even when the blocks sit in different kinds of stone,
and the animated files add a glint that moves across the ore every few seconds.
Files
The pack comes as six files, and you install just one of them.
| File | What it does |
|—|—|
| Glow | Ores glow. Nothing else changes. |
| Glow + Border | Ores glow and gain a connected outline that merges between touching blocks. |
| Animated Glow | The glow, with a glint that grows out from the middle of the ore every few seconds. |
| Animated Glow + Border | The glow and the outline, both with the glint. |
| Subtle Glow | The glow at half strength. |
| Subtle Glow + Border | The glow and the outline, both at half strength. |
The animated files are named SeamlessAnimatedOres, and the subtle
files SeamlessSubtleOres.
Dependencies
The pack needs Fusion
1.3.0 or newer, and nothing else. Fusion runs on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt without Sodium,
Fabric API or any bridge mod, which is why the pack is built for it rather than for OptiFine or
Continuity.
Coverage
The pack covers 2,234 blocks:
- Every vanilla ore, including the deepslate and Nether ones.
- All 1,905 blocks of Seamless Ores across the Minecraft versions it supports, including its ores in other mods’ stones.
- The ores of 24 more mods: Cobblemon, Create, Create: New Age, Create: The Factory Must Grow, Dense Mekanism, Energized Power, Exp Ores, Extreme Reactors, Ice and Fire Community Edition, Immersive Engineering, Malum, Meadow, Mekanism, Modern Industrialization, Mystical Agriculture, Mythic Metals, Mythic Upgrades, Occultism, Oreganized, Powah, Silent Gear, Silent’s Gems, Tech Reborn and Things.
Each mod’s list of ore blocks was read out of the mod itself, so an ore is covered in exactly the
stones it generates in. Blocks from mods you do not have are skipped, so the pack also works with no
mods besides Fusion.
Outlines
Most connected texture packs can only join a block to copies of itself, so an iron vein running from
stone into granite gets a line down the middle, because the game treats the two as different blocks.
Here every iron ore belongs to the same group and shares one outline, whatever stone it sits in, in
all three directions. That includes the dripstone and cinnabar ores of Seamless Ores, and Meadow’s
limestone ores, which use the vanilla artwork.
Some ores are grouped further. Mekanism and Dense Mekanism keep their own artwork but share an
outline, and Powah’s three grades of uraninite form one group rather than three. Ores in different
dimensions stay separate: Silent’s Gems has most of its gems in stone, netherrack and end stone, and
each of those is its own group, as are Tech Reborn’s End ores and Cobblemon’s Nether fire stone.
Individual ores
- Redrawn ores: Immersive Engineering redrew nickel and uranium, Meadow its alpine salt, and Mekanism its tin after 1.20.1. The pack carries both drawings and uses the one that matches your Minecraft version.
- Occultism’s iesnium only glows once it has been uncovered, as in the mod.
- Silent’s Gems’ opal is translucent, and so is its glow.
- Stormyx, unobtainium, chaos and Extreme Reactors’ ores are animated by their own mods, and their glow follows the same animation.
- Meadow’s alpine salt has two looks, and the glow follows whichever one the block shows.
- Ancient debris glows as a whole block rather than getting an outline, because its texture is drawn as one piece rather than as stone with ore on top.
Compatibility
The glow is added as a layer on top of each ore rather than replacing its texture, so each ore keeps
its own artwork, including artwork from other resource packs. The one exception is Meadow’s alpine
salt ore: for the glow to follow its two looks, the pack replaces that block’s blockstate file. Its
textures still come from Meadow, or from a pack that retextures it.
Each file covers Minecraft 1.20 and up, 26.3 included. The pack contains no code, so one file serves
every version in that range, and blocks that do not exist on your version are skipped. The bordered
file is about 600 KB.
Common questions
Do I need the Seamless Ores mod?
No. The vanilla ores are covered on their own. The mod adds more blocks for the pack to cover, and
those are what let an outline continue across different stones.
Can I use it with OptiFine or Continuity?
No, the pack is built for Fusion, which covers every loader those two do.
Fusion says it needs a newer Forge on 1.21.11.
Update Forge rather than downgrading Fusion. Fusion requires Forge 61.1.16 or newer there, because an
older Forge bug crashed the game when terrain particles were created. Some launchers have not caught
up: the Modrinth app currently stops at 61.1.5, while the CurseForge app offers 61.2.0, which is
Forge’s own recommended build.
Can I use it on an older version?
1.20.x works, and Forge and NeoForge there need nothing extra. Older than 1.20 the pack loads but is
not supported.
What about Fabric on 1.20.x?
Sodium did not implement the Fabric Rendering API until 0.6, which was never released for 1.20.1, so
the glow needs Indium
there. Without it the outlines and overlays still appear but do not light up. With it they light up,
but thin lines can flicker on ore faces. Removing Sodium stops the flicker and keeps the glow, at the
cost of shaders. The flicker comes from Sodium and Indium rather than from this pack or Fusion: it
happens with Fusion’s own packs too, and it has been reported to those projects.
Does it work with shaders?
Yes.
Why is a mod I use not covered?
Either it has not been done yet, or its licence does not allow artwork to be derived from it without
permission. Ask and it can be looked into.
Can I put it in a modpack?
Yes, and there is no need to ask.
