Post-Apocalyptic World

Following the fallout of a nuclear war, the land was left scarred, and humanity was left on the verge of extinction.  When humanity finally emerged from their bunkers and established their societies, they found themselves up against new challenges that they had never experienced before.  While they were waiting out the radiation, the plants and animals found themselves experiencing harsh mutations.  While some species survived, others found themselves becoming increasingly deformed, until they were completely different from how they started.  These creatures are typically much more aggressive, and attempt to attack any other creature they see, especially humans.  Will the new societies, with their mix of old technology and the little bit of new technology they entered the bunkers with, be able to survive in this hostile new world?
