Assorted Staffs

Three staffs with a few tricks each. The Neptune staff pours water and freezes mobs solid, the Phoenix staff pours lava and thaws them out again, and the power staff pushes and pulls blocks around.

The staffs

Each staff has a few modes. Switch between them with the tool mode key, Z by default. It’s under Assorted Mods in Controls.

• The Neptune staff pours water where you click, freezes every mob within 8 blocks of you, or turns the still water around you to ice. Hitting a mob with it freezes just that one.
• A frozen mob stands still and silent, covered in ice, until a Phoenix staff thaws it or it catches fire.
• The Phoenix staff pours lava or lights a fire where you click, thaws every frozen mob around you, or melts the ice around you. Hitting a frozen mob with it thaws it.
• The power staff pushes a block one step away from the side you click, or pulls it one step toward you. The floating modes leave the block where it ends up, so you can pull steps right out of a wall. The dropping modes let it fall.

• The power staff moves anything a piston could. Packs can stop it moving more blocks with the assortedstaffs:power_staff_immovable block tag.

Frost rods and ice charges

• Frost rods are the cold blaze rod. Strays drop them, and any other monster sometimes does when you kill it in a snowy biome.
• A frost rod makes two frost powder, and frost powder, gunpowder and a snowball make three ice charges. The Neptune staff needs one to craft.
• Throw an ice charge like a snowball or fire it from a dispenser. It chills and puts out whatever it hits, and freezes the still water and puts out the fire where it lands. Blazes, magma cubes and striders take extra damage from it.
• You can find the staffs in chests too. The Neptune staff in shipwrecks, underwater ruins, buried treasure and igloos, the Phoenix staff in Nether fortresses, bastions and ruined portals, and the power staff in strongholds, mansions, ancient cities, desert pyramids and jungle temples.

Updating from Assorted Tools 11.x

Worlds made with Assorted Tools 11.x keep everything when you switch to this mod. Don’t install it beside Assorted Tools 11.x.

Staffs also comes in Assorted Tools with the other Tools mods, if you’d rather have them all in one download.
