As mentioned before, this simple mod adds a variant of the snow golem. This “useful” variant (otherwise known as the Jack O Lantern snow golem) will shoot fireballs instead of snowballs that will set targets on fire! It can be summoned by placing 2 blocks of snow and then a Jack O lantern ontop. Instead of shearing it, you will be able to take the torch out of the Jack O lantern to turn it into a regular snow golem (but be warned, he will lose his fire attacks!):
