Altered: No Return

Vanishing Chunks is a Minecraft Java datapack that instantly erases any chunk the moment a player leaves it. The world only exists under your feet — everything behind you disappears layer by layer.

How it works

• The moment you step into a new chunk, the previous one starts vanishing
• Deletion happens in thin horizontal layers (to stay under command limits) and finishes in under a second
• Chunks with other players still inside are left untouched
• Spawn area (±3 chunks) is protected by default
• Only works in the Overworld (can be changed)
• A subtle actionbar message appears when a chunk begins to vanish
• You can permanently protect any chunk with a single command

Commands

• /function vanishchunks:settings — view & change options
• /function vanishchunks:keep_here — permanently protect the current chunk
• /function vanishchunks:force_delete — instantly erase the chunk you’re standing in

Install

Drop the zip into the world’s datapacks folder, then run /reload.
