Never lose a Minecraft world again.

World Backup is a lightweight Fabric mod that automatically backs up all your Minecraft worlds the moment you close the game. No commands. No buttons. No setup. Just install it and forget about it — your worlds are always protected.

How it works

Every time you quit Minecraft, World Backup silently runs in the background and saves a compressed copy of all your worlds to your backup folder. You will never have to think about it.

Configuration

On first launch, World Backup creates a file called worldbackup.config in your Downloads folder. Open it in any text editor to customize:

# How many backups to keep
max_backups=5

The config file includes examples for every major launcher so you always know exactly what to change.

Installation

1. Install Fabric Loader for Minecraft 26.1.2
2. Install Fabric API
3. Drop worldbackup.jar into your mods folder
4. Launch Minecraft
5. Open worldbackup.config in your Downloads folder and set your saves_path
6. Play — your worlds are now automatically backed up every session
