Up Items Resourcepack

Up Items Plugin adds a risk-and-reward item upgrader to your Paper server. A player puts an item on the altar, picks the item they actually want, and spins. Win and the item is delivered straight to their inventory. Lose and the item they put in is gone for good.

It’s built for survival, SMP and economy servers that want a late-game item sink with a bit of tension. Players with spare resources get a reason to gamble them, and you get a way to take excess items (and money) out of circulation.

How it works Run

to open the upgrader menu. Put an item in the left slot. This is your stake. Click the center frame to open the catalog (every obtainable item, paged) and choose the item you want. A sign button lets you search by name through chat. Set the amount you want: left click +1, right click −1, Shift for ±10. Press UPGRADE. The menu spins with sound effects, then gives the result.

The success chance is shown on the button before you commit, so nothing is hidden from the player.

How the chance is calculated

chance = (value of what you give / value of what you want) × (1 − house edge)
The result is clamped between a minimum and a maximum chance (default 1% to 95%), so no upgrade is ever guaranteed.

With the default values, 10 iron ingots (value 100) for 1 netherite ingot (value 400) gives about 22.5%. Damaged tools and armor are worth less, and items that shouldn’t be tradable (bedrock, spawners, command blocks, etc.) are excluded automatically. You can set your own value for any item, or blacklist items entirely.

Use /up reload after editing, no restart needed.
Installation Download the jar that matches your server version (1.20.4 or 1.21.4). Put it in your plugins folder and restart the server. Give players the upgrader.use permission. FAQ

Does it need Vault? No. Vault or VaultUnlocked is only used for the optional money loss.

Can regular players use it? Only if you give them upgrader.use. By default it’s OP only.

Does it work on Fabric or Forge? No, this is a Paper plugin.

Can I change item prices? Yes, via value-overrides and global-value-multiplier.
